Guided and excited about
Copenhagen
Copenhagen means 3 vibrant days in a city built on design, modernism and architecture. But none of this without denying its very long historical past. It is the city of television series like Borgen and crime shows like ‘the Bridge’, Wallander or ‘the Fall’, the city that boasts its own ‘free state’ and still tries to reclaim important pieces of land from the sea. It is the city where children still carry flowers daily to the grave of fairy-tale creator Hans Christian Andersen; where life is defined by a generation of students and young parents; where parking problems are about bicycles and cargo bikes; where, weather or not, people meet in the streets and chat on the many terraces. It is the city that models cocooning or as they call it ‘hygge’, but also constantly drives you outside, if only for a cup of coffee at one of the many kiosks.
